The Cousins Hereward Postcard Collection was compiled by Mr. H. H. Cousins, Director of Agriculture in Jamaica, 1908-1932. It consists of 212 picture postcards. Subject areas covered include: Jamaican alphabet, hotels and resort areas. The postcards provide visual records of early 20th Century Jamaican history and documentary evidence of the multicultural society which was emerging after post-slavery in Jamaica. There is also evidence of the retention of African and East Indian traditions. The Collection was donated to the Library by Mr Cousin's family in 1982.
